Amenities

In the old village there is a butchers open in the morning with high quality meat, pies and pasties plus milk, eggs and bread.  At the harbour side there is a seasonal café for lovely sandwiches and coffee, in particular a toasted BLT or bacon with brie butty might be welcome.

At the top, having walked up the hill, you will find a quirky general store and a little further on the main road there is a Co-op which can also has a cask machine. So, there are most food and drink items available here and  even the occasional wetsuit, would you believe.  ASDA, Sainsbury’s and Tesco will all deliver if you need more than you can carry. And, of course, there is a fish and chip shop, this is Yorkshire after all.

Finally, don’t be fooled by Boulby mine, a mile away, it is not for treacle, it’s much more 007 than that. As well as potash it’s a deep underground laboratory seeking dark matter!
